Achievements because of CrossFit (mental & physical):
CrossFit has taught me stop comparing myself to others. It’s’ not about the person that lifts more weight than me or works out more than me. It’s about me and what I’ve accomplished. Sure we all push each other to do better, but at the end of the day it’s about me doing my best and being stronger than I was yesterday. I have more confidence in myself now than I have ever had in my life. I am stronger physically, but more important, I am stronger mentally and emotionally. There have been days I literally wanted to cry through my workout, but I did it. I finished. This crosses over into the rest of my life. If I’m feeling defeated, I say to myself, “Hey, you did a full “Murph” (a very difficult workout), you can do anything.” All of this I have accomplished with my team at Four Barrel!
The coaches are amazing! The athletes are amazing!… There have been so many times I was the last one to finish a WOD and my coaches finished it with me and my teammates cheered me on. They do this, not because they have to, but because the care about me. It really is like a family.
Why did you start CrossFit?:
I was never a person that enjoyed working out. Actually I hated it. I needed to lose weight though, and my best friend kept talking to me about Four Barrel. I told her there was no way I could do anything like that, but after much convincing, I decided to go to one class to get her off my back. It was love at first site. I was hooked from that very first WOD. I had never worked so hard and felt so good. I needed this. So now, I never miss a Saturday and I do everything I can to get in 2 other days a week. Sometimes I feel bad that I don’t do more than just 3 days a week, but that’s 3 more days than I used to do. So if you are thinking of joining Four Barrel CrossFit, I highly recommend it. It will change your life in more ways than you ever expected. I love my box!
